5 Best Backyard Games
Picture this: It's a July long weekend, you've got a cold drink in hand, and you're about to throw the winning bag in Corn Hole. Life is good, right?
It's no secret that I love games, but what I love more than games is backyard games! My ideal group activity is playing lawn games all day in the backyard, listening to music, and having a great time. Summer is here and group gathering sizes are increasing so it's time for a round-up of the 5 Best Backyard Games:

1. Corn Hole
Also know as bean bag toss or cow paddy toss, this is, by far, my favourite backyard game! It's simple - 2 teams of 2, throw the bean bags back and forth, and be the first team to 21 points to win! It's 3 points for getting it in the hole and 1 for getting it on the board.

2. Ladder Ball
Ladder Ball is similar to Corn Hole - 2 teams, you throw objects back and forth, and first team to 21 wins. The difference is these objects are like mini-nunchuks and you want to stick them on one of the three ladder rungs. Different points are awarded for each ladder rung! My family played this game all the time at our old house - it's awesome!

3. Bocce Ball
Bocce Ball is a CLASSIC. My family has been playing this game for as long as I can remember. This game is great because you can play with up to 8 people on teams or as few as 2 people. The object is to throw the heavier, coloured balls as closest to the white ball as possible. This game can go on forever and you can get really creative with where you throw the white ball. It also travels well - perfect for camping or the beach!

The first time I heard of Kubb was in the Bahamas and it's still the only time! We played it with a big group during a backyard party. It's a great way to involve a bunch of people and have a little friendly competition. The goal is to knock over your opponents' pieces by throwing a stick at them - that's basically the gist of it. You could definitely make your own set!

5. Spike Ball
Are you up for a challenge? If so, this is the game for you! Spike Ball is played with two teams of two, and it's similar in concept to volleyball except the net is on the ground, and the ball is smaller. Teams take turns using 3 'passes' before hitting the ball off the net to the other team. It's a lot of fun, but it's definitely tough! It's great for a beach day so you can dive around everywhere!

And there you have it! My Top 5 Best Backyard Games. I hope this helps you pick a game to play at BBQs with friends and family this summer to make it one you won't forget!
